Lyrics:

The culprit, you act before thinking
Caught in your ignorant sin
And lying to your own reflection
You thought you could hide

Deprived of my own innocence, denied

The infinity of recurring torment
Your comeuppance

See, hear the torture inside
Devouring what was left of my pride
You thought it's not going to happen to you
Thought you could hide

Deprived of my own innocence, denied

The infinity of recurring torment
Your comeuppance
Dwelling in a mind, mixed up and
Your regret has spread over the sea

Deprived of my own innocence, denied

The infinity of recurring torment
Your comeuppance
Dwelling in a mind, mixed up and
Your regret has spread over the sea

I Quietus Herz this song a lot!Honestly it's a bit catchy but that desn't matter for me.I really like the irish feeling of it and the orchestration.Simone sings like an angel here(when not? Quietus Icon_lol ),and her lyrics are pretty impressive. In fact I've noticed her lyrics are more emotional, while Mark's tend to be more philosphical, but I realy like both writing styles, and they do fit the Epica songs Quietus Icon_biggrin And the video is pretty good, was my 2nd Epica video I've seen Quietus Icon_smile

It's an amazing song! I can't just sit calmly and listen to it; I always have to headbang, clap, sing or whatever. Razz It's so energetic, especially live. And I can relate to the lyrics a lot.

Does anyone know the lyrics for the version with grunts? I mean, I think their slightly different in the second line of the first verse, but I can't clearly hear the grunts nor find those lyrics anywhere.

I love it, it was my first Epica song Smile.
The live version is much better than the cd version, now it's the headbang song!

I like this song, but I prefer the live version to the studio one.

I really like the slight 'celtic' feel at the beginning. Very Happy
