Well as far as I know they've been a couple since around 2005/2006.Right after Mark parted with Simone.

I suspect that they might have met in Norway, actually, quote Simones tour blog: "Our backstage was very small, but one of the guys from Kamelot told me I could use their backstage any time"

She is a "guest member" or else she would be in ALL their promo pics. (Woud love that, though) <3 xD

That fact leaves me with soo many questions and thoughts in mind...

It, sort of, creates a whole new theory of the "Mark and Simone's break up" thing. Simone herself has stated that it felt awkward living at the same place with Mark for a little while after they parted ways. On the other hand, it turned out she started dating Oliver shortly after her break-up with Mark. I doubt that Mark is fond of Oliver since that same German keyboardist pretty much "stole" Mark's previous big (and long) love. It could also be the case that Simone seduced Oliver and decided she'd be better off with him but according to her own "Norway statement," it was more like her current boyfriend hit on her. Given the fact that Epica and Kamelot have been touring together (and also doing all kinds of stuff together) pretty much from the very beginning of Epica's career, it would not have been too difficult for some Kamelot guy to fall in love with the Divine Simone.

Of course, we could never know the exact reason of Mark and Simone's break up. It's sad, though, but now I think it could have been a better step for both of them. Simone seems to be really happy with Oliver (maybe even engaged?) and Mark has found the love of his life, too. (Or at least that's what he says...) Moreover, Simone's personality is quite odd and unkind. (Or at least it looks as if she's a bit cold and distant.) On the opposite, Mark tends to be a spiritual, relaxed, balanced and thoughtful person, as well, who would most probably find it hard to deal with such a diva "forever and ever".

Having a relationship with a bandmate truly is a hard thing that could totally fuck up the whole working process. (After Forever being a great example here.) I respect both Mark and Sisi for being able to move on and continue doing what they love to in Epica. Floor and Sander clearly couldn't manage to deal with their relations...
