| I thought starting this topic might be a good idea, since a lot of you mentioned that you want to learn Dutch, mainly because Epica is from The Netherlands. Dutch is a Germanic language spoken in Holland, a part of Belgium, Suriname, CuraƧao, Aruba, Bonaire, Saba, Sint Maarten, and Sint Eustatius. There are 22 million people who's native language is Dutch, which is a very low amount of people (English --> 400 million). Ofcourse, I can help/teach you, though, it will be really hard to learn Dutch. Foreigners always tell me that learning Dutch is the hardest language to learn on earth. You can check YouTube for the pronounciation of the alpabet, counting, etc. Tip: Download this program; Teach2000 It's a program, in which you can learn words, sentences, etc. It's Dutch, but you can change it's settings: Instellingen (in the top, at the left) ---> Instellingen ---> Taal van het programma. Next to it there's a white thingie, there you can pick the language you want. For this program, I will make some vocabulary for those who are interested in having these, with just some basic Dutch words and sentences. If you need help with writing a letter or something, you can always click my PM button! With love, Eline. _________________ Stunning set made by Mary <3Epica live counter: 17 times & MaYaN: 2 times

| Am, it will be piece of cake for you.I think there's a lot of similarity between Norwegian & Dutch. For those who know German, Dutch can be easy too once you know the basic stuff. There are many people who write you in Dutch as u, because of a translator. U is formal, but the 'normal' to say you is jij or je. Personal pronouns: I - ik You - jij/je You (formal, eldery) - u He - hij She - zij/ze It - het We - wij/we ('we' is not pronounced as 'we' in English, the 'e' is more like the 'u' in us) You (as in.. several persons, not including you) - jullie They - zij Verb 'to be' ---> 'zijn': I am - Ik ben You are - Jij/je/u bent He is - Hij is She is - Zij/ze is It is - Het is We are - Wij/we zijn You are - Jullie zijn They are - Zij zijn I'll put some basic words in Teach2000 know, PM me (with your e-mailaddress) if you're interested! Also some sentences, like 'I love you' etc. Are there some suggestions on themes of the vocabulary? _________________ Stunning set made by Mary <3Epica live counter: 17 times & MaYaN: 2 times | |

| Beau taught me the rules of using 3 types of 'you': je,jij, jou.
He said jij is a singular version of 'you' and is used to distinguish a certain person. It's used at the end of a question such as 'and you?' which would be en jij? Beau aslo said je is singular use of 'you' but it's just easy speak, as is the same with jou
I realised simple phrases in Dutch tend to use jou as opposed to je. Whereas longer sentences with much more complexity uses je.
Is this all correct? _________________ Tuo nukke kokee kovan kohtalon

| ^ Hahahaha, 'slett' is delete or something in Norwegian, right?
And you're right Tay!
Jou is used as indirect object.
Example: I give you a present Ik geef jou een cadeau _________________ Stunning set made by Mary <3Epica live counter: 17 times & MaYaN: 2 times | |

| Some words are different, but those words I can understand if I think about it. It's like ehm... Swedish and Norwegian, American English & British. Something like that, hahaha. Belgian accent is very cute in my humble opinion, that's why I think Isaac's so adorable. _________________ Stunning set made by Mary <3Epica live counter: 17 times & MaYaN: 2 times | |

| LOL. I'm Canadian and WE have our own style of English too! As does Australia. I find American English so horrible and nasally, whereas in British English they place Rs where THERE ARE NONE. Like in the word 'can't' they say it like car-n-t. There's no R idiota. In Canadian English we say things like can't as can-t how it's supposed to be said! So yeah, for all 'branches' of English there are many different prnounciations! And typical me I say CANADIAN ENGLISH IS BEST! NOW, can we go back to learning Dutch? _________________ Tuo nukke kokee kovan kohtalon

| ^I don't understand what you meant with rs.So the British English speakers adjust 'r' or 's' at random moments in words like in the example with can't? Sorry, but I was curious | |

| ^ I meant R + plural so - Rs would be more than one R I'm rubbish at conveying things! But yes it annoys me so much when they prounounce 'car-n-t'. _________________ Tuo nukke kokee kovan kohtalon

| really, I think ! same for the Dutch, I have a Dutch accent when I speak while I speak French! Belgium finally be able to speak both languages ... But I do not understand the Dutch from Belgium because it is different. It is called 'Flemish' ('Flamand' in French ). Therefore, it is no longer Dutch! | |
