This is amazing.Month ago I read about this in an interview for a Bulgarian magazine and at Mark's myspace. Can't wait to hear a new material

This will be epic! Hope there will be news soon..

OK, and the news stated on official site:

„There was only one record label we wanted to sign with: Nuclear Blast, so we didn't even look for other companies to work with and we're very happy that this appreciation is mutual“, Mark says and announces: „The debut album will be recorded and mixed at the end of the year 2010 and the beginning of 2011 by Sascha Paeth (who produced the former EPICA records as well). We're also stoked to announce that Jeroen Paul Thesseling (PESTILENCE, OBSCURA), known for his signature six-string fretless playing in progressive death metal, will join as permanent member on bass guitar. Isaac Delahaye and Arien van Weesenbeek (EPICA) will complete the line up!“

The release of the album will take place around May 2011 and the CD presentation will be @ Paradiso - Amsterdam! The music is a mixture of death, black and progressive metal combined with symphonic orchestral arrangements. „We'll work with some very interesting guests and these will be announced very soon!“

May 2011! And I'm curious about the guests!

AS I've stated before progressive/death/symphonic metal is ithe best mixture ever.So I bet all my dollars( ) that I will be very pleased about MaYaN's debut album But May 2011 is still quite far

I just hope we still get Epica new album in 2011 too.

Btw, the full interview with the band should follow soon. The previous video seems to be only a teaser.

I'm 99% sure we will get the new Epic album in aprox. 1 year by now Epic have a tradition of making albums every 2 years,so I doubt this won't happen anymore unless there's a serious matter or they want a break.

I can't wait to hear the whole inteview although I think it will be as crazy as the teaser

So, it turns out they came up with MaYaN name themselves.

I won't play guitar on stage with MaYaN. We have two fabulous guitarplayers: Isaac and Frank, so I can focus fully on the grunts and screams
I think this will be refreshing as I'm used to play guitar on stage but I'm always up for new challenges

I knew what he will do But it seems this way Mark will interact a lot more on stage with the fans than with his guitar on

And he looks a bit naked without guitar, in some way.

^ Indeed I guess both Mark and the fans will have to take some time to get used to it.

I might change Effenaar for Atak Enschede is less than half an hour by car & Eindhoven more than 1 and a half.
