I GOT IT!!! I GOT IT!!!
And it's so gorgeous! This edition is like a little book, I"m so in love with it, just magical.
Truly the best thing I own!!
Now can't wait for the night to come, so I can listen to those epic songs in their original high quality!

OMG I was to happy about the album charts that I didn't even read this post, or I've forgotten.

So I hope you're not going to tell Mark,aren't you?

It's wierd but i love this album everyday more, it's still growing!

The title track is uber amazing and I didn't even like it much on the beggining,better than TDC

I really love DYU. It's very magical and powerful, it really has that something in it which makes me want to listen to this album over and over again. Just amazing, lyrics are very deep and music is awesome. Simone's voice has improved a lot since TDC, It's better than ever. Also Mark's voice is much stronger. It's even hard to lift one song forth from another, every song on this album is special and good in different ways. At the moment I love Resign To Surrender and Deconstruct the most.

I love new album. I'm listening to it everyday and every day I like it more and more. I don't even know, what song should I choose for the favorite one from this album, let it be - "Our Destiny"...But they're all great!
I'm proud of Epica! And Simone is doing really great! Her voice... Ahh.. don't even have words for that...

Wow, that's pretty good! Well, such a brilliant album does deserve to be that high in the charts \o/

My first (and recent) impressions on "Design Your Universe" were bad because I found it somehow boring. Today, I decided to give the album another try and, guess what...I've already started to enjoy most of the songs on it! There indeed are a few tracks I don't find that good but as a whole, I find it pretty nice and well-made, actually. My personal favourites so far are:

Resign to Surrender
Martyr of the Free Word
Tides of Time
Semblance of Liberty
and White Waters, as well.

I'll tell you if there is another song I've also found fascinating!

As a whole, it seems to me that Epica remained faithful to their style. However, they've added some new elements such as prog riffs and some other stuff, too. I'm pretty sure the new members have also contributed to the album. Another thing, that I really like about the new release, is the fact that Mark actually sings good on it (he did have some problems with his singing techniques on the previous CDs...) . In addition, I can sense a more exotic vibe, a mystical touch... All in all, "Design Your Universe" is somehow different (only a bit, though) in comparison with Epica's previous records and yet so close to the band's actual style...

Yeah, I agree it's different, actually since the release I found it obvious like two weeks ago. Yet it still has Epica spirit, and it doesn't lose anything in my eyes, I love it the same, and it's definately the best album of Epica imo.
I hope when you give some more listenings to DYU you will get to love it even more, Elodie.
